Dear All,
Welcome to Oxford! The Oxford Middle East Review (OMER) is currently recruiting members for its 2022-2023 editorial team! We are a student-run, peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal for discussion and debate on issues relating to the Middle East and North Africa region. We publish a yearly review in Trinity Term under an advertised theme. We also publish shorter pieces on our dynamic blog on the journal’s website.
We are currently accepting applications until 17 October for students interested in becoming content editors and/ or applying for other auxiliary positions within the journal’s Executive Committee. They will become part of a highly motivated and passionate community of students interested in the study of the Middle East and North Africa.
Content editors’ task is to review submissions to the journal and blog, edit accepted pieces for content and clarity, and liaise with peer reviewers. They get a great opportunity to participate in the process of editing and publishing an academic journal. The auxiliary positions within the journal’s executive committee include Communications Officers who will be working to advertise our journal and the blog on social media, the Grants Management team will be responsible for working on grant proposals to raise funds for our Journal, and an Events Coordinator who will liaise with the Managing Editors to plan for the journal’s launch event in Trinity Term, 2023.
If you are interested in applying, please send your CV (max. 2 pages) and a brief statement of interest to editors@omerjournal.com. If applicable, please indicate your interest in either of these positions.
